Watch Kat tattoo Frank Iero

Kat Von D gave MCR's Frank Iero a tattoo of his grandfather drumming. Check it out.

Frank's grandfather
Here's the picture Frank provided to Kat.

Knowing the facts, perhaps last week's poll (below) has less resonance. But feel free to take it anyway. What the hell:

Pick Frank Iero's next piece of LA Ink

Being guitarist for My Chemical Romance comes with its privileges. For Frank Iero that means appearing on LA Ink for an on-camera tattoo. What should Kat Von D put next on Frankie?

Kat talks to Buzznet at the VMAs!

My wildest dreams have come true -- Kat Von D kicked it with Buzznet on the red carpet of the Vegas VMAs!

KAT FACTS:
  • She took some time out to show off her tats, telling us her favorites are the stars on her face. What do they signify, you ask? Motley Crue's early '80s track "Starry Eyes."
  • L.A. Ink has in fact been picked up for a second season, Kat tells us -- awwwww yeah!!
  • Wesley from Whitestarr (who happens to be the late rock pioneer Roy Orbison's son) accompanied Ms. Von D down the red carpet. Hmmmm.. is love in the air? Who knows -- she's famous for her guy-friend sidekicks.
  • Which VMA nominee was Kat rooting for the most? The Foo Fighters, she told us.

'LA Ink' Recap: Kat 'shuts the front door' on plastic surgery

Surprise surprise! After serious peer pressure from her fake-chested friend Pixie -- and a consultation with a plastic surgeon -- Kat Von D decided to "stick with tattoos." While she admitted surgery seemed less scary to her (after talking to doc Fischer), she said it was something she did not "take lightly."

Good for you Kat!

BEST QUOTE: "Your boobs are totally huge."
(Pixie said after changing her mind about whether Kat should enhance.)

WORST QUOTE: "Shut the front door."
(Pixie's one-liner -- uttered in last week's episode too.)

Did Kat make the right decision? Let me know in comments (below).

Seperated at birth?

Earlier in the show, Desperate Housewives heartthrob Jesse Metcalfe got a tat from Hannah in honor of a past broken heart. Did anyone else think the lady lassoing his anatomical heart looked like co-star Eva Longoria? Hmmm... I did think the two looked awfully cozy in the episode of Punked they did a while back. Then again, Eva looks a lot like the woman who reportedly dumped Jesse earlier this year -- pop star Nadine Coyle

Who do you think was immortalized on Jesse's arm? Answer in the comments.

Check back next week -- we'll decide whether the power cleanse (previewed as part of next week's episode) was effective.

'LA Ink' Recap: Love and fake boobs

I learned my lesson from last week's poll: Save the tough questions for last. I hope you believe me when I say -- I truly adore all of you ardent Kat lovers. The LA Ink group is growing and so is Kat's tag page. Keep up the great work!

Now for show highlights:

  • Rapper/actress Eve was LA Ink's first official customer as Kat gave her a red-and-black Sandskrit tat. Was anyone else disappointed when she didn't "dish on her love life" as TLC promised in their preview promos? You gotta hand it to Pixie for trying to pry it out of her. But, alas, Eve remained a vault. The only quote she gave up was: "I love love." Um -- who doesn't?

  • Corey gives a guardian angel tat to a car accident survivor. NOTE: Up until now, all non-celebs have gotten emotionally-touching tats. Many a tear has been shed. How long can the show keep up this Oprah-esque style? Lemme know in comments (below).

  • Kat gets pendants with rubies for the original five members of LA Ink -- the new "Fab Five," imho. What a sweet gesture.

  • Justin's "acid trip in nature" tat was awesome and so was Mike's "big heat."

  • Another Mike (BMX biker and stuntman) gets Leonardo da Vinci's "Vitruvian Man" on his side. Two cringe moments worth noting: 1) When Mike stands up and folds his arm down, Kat's "Man" gets smooshed in the head and torso. 2) When Kat let's Mike haphazardly tat the words "BUFF N STUFF" on her leg. Sure it's a "yearbook" leg, as she described -- but it's Kat Von D's yearbook leg.
MOST SHOCKING MOMENT: The previews for next week show Kat consulting with a plastic surgeon for breast implants! I think she's fine as is. Lemme know what you think (in comments, per usual).

See you back here next week!

Bill Murray: Teed off and tipsy

Apparently Bill Murray is a belligerent drunk off-screen as well as on. The police in Stockholm, Sweden, brought the Rushmore and Caddyshack actor back to the station after he failed a drunk driving test. He had been behind the wheel of, get this, a golf cart.

He was using the mini vehicle to get him back to his hotel, according to police.

Although he refused to take a breath test, a Stockholm cop said he was "very calm and friendly."

Show Recap: 'L.A. Ink' Season Premiere

Kat Von D officially steps out from under the shadow of her Miami digs as she returns to her beloved hometown of Los Angeles to open her own tattoo shop. The season opener of "L.A. Ink," which aired Tuesday night on TLC, promises a new, womanly string of original episodes.

Here are some highlights from the show:
  • Actor Eric Balfour (remember him as Gabe on "Six Feet Under"?) gets a detailed tat of a skull and butterflies on his arm. Kat was psyched because it's the type of tat she loves to do the most.
  • Kat recruits her dimple-pierced friend Pixie -- a bubbly and supportive colleague.
  • On a trip to Chicago, Kat tries to talk Kim into joining her all-star lineup, which so far, consists of only female artists.
  • One disappointment for our L.A. tat artist de jour -- Kat gets turned down by some one she looks up to -- expert dragon artist Corey. But is that his final answer?
Tune in next week to find out who else she brings on board!

And spend some time on this Kat Von D: Inky Attitude photo gallery.
